About

Schooner America 2.0

Past meets present when sailing aboard the elegant and swift Schooner America 2.0. America 2.0 is designed after the famous Schooner America that was built in 1851 in New York harbor. That same year, America won the international race that is now known as the America's Cup, thus showcasing American skill in building fast, elegant, and efficient ships.

Fast forward to 2011 and Scarano Boat Building in Albany, NY takes classic American values of craftsmanship and efficient design and adds in 21st century concepts--modern materials and eco-friendly propulsion-- and creates the most prestigious state-of-the-art ship of our time, America 2.0.

Sailing on the Schooner America 2.0 is a privilege. She moves through the water effortlessly and beautifully, and we take great pride in sharing her with you. Our staff is known for their amazing hospitality, and are all professionally trained and experienced on sailing our vessels well and safely. Do not hesitate to ask our crew about the boat or any of the NYC sites.

Detailed Directions:

Our boats depart from Chelsea Piers, on Pier 62, which is located at West 22nd Street and the Hudson River. We are at the northernmost end of the Chelsea Piers on the water. When walking to Chelsea Piers, you must cross the West Side Highway. There are crosswalks at 18th, 20th and 23rd Street. When standing on the west side highway facing the river (facing west), go around the north side of the large blue building. Our ticket booth is located on the walkway next to the water on Pier 62.

Please check in at the Classic Harbor Line ticket booth upon arrival, and you will be escorted to the boat by the Captain when it is time to board.

By Subway:

Take the C or E train to 23rd Street. This will leave you on 8th Avenue, so you'll need to walk about three avenues west, until you hit the Hudson River and the Chelsea Piers complex.

By Bus:

Take the crosstown M23 bus west to the last stop: Chelsea Piers, Pier 62.

By Car:

If you are planning to park at Chelsea Piers, the access road into Chelsea Piers' parking lots is at West 24th street. This road is only accessible if you are south bound on the West Side Hwy or west bound on 23rd Street. On 23rd street, take a right on 11th Avenue and a quick left on W. 24th street. Use the taxi turn-in into Chelsea Piers and stay to the right. Watch out for pedestrians and bikers in this area. Upon entering, you will have to take a ticket that you must pay to the lot attendants when you leave.

Parking:

Chelsea Piers parking is available on piers 61, 60 & 59. Availability cannot be guaranteed. We unfortunately do not issue vouchers for parking at Chelsea Piers.
