Fall Foliage Cruise aboard Kingston

Key points on this Cruise:

  • 2.5 hours
  • $108 per person
  • Light narration by the captain of the local Hudson River sights
  • Route goes north out of Chelsea Piers, under the George Washington Bridge and takes in the Fall Foliage of Palisades Park
  • Seating available in covered and heated salon with large windows.
  • One complimentary beer, wine, Champagne or soft drink is offered. Additional beverages are available for purchase.

Step aboard the Kingston -- our cozy, elegant, 1920s-style yachts -- as we travel north to explore the grand foliage of the Palisades Park on the Hudson River.

Admire the last leaves of fall in all their splendor through the large windowed salon of our ship’s heated and enclosed observatory, or while catching the breeze on her bow. Observe New York's most dramatic natural wonders and colorful foliage as the seasons change with a hot beverage in hand.

Highlights along the way of this 2.5-hour cruise include:

  • The beautiful Upper West Side of Manhattan, Riverside Cathedral, Grant's Tomb and the Cloisters
  • The majestic George Washington Bridge and the Little Red Lighthouse
  • The cliffs of Palisades Park, one of New York's most dramatic geological features

The Kingston offers wrap-around seating, on a small intimate classic yacht with un-obscured views for all! The back observatory is covered to protect you from the bright sun but has open windows for you to feel the fresh breeze in your hair! Guests are welcome on the forward deck as well to soak in the sun and to score fantastic photographs of the city skyline!

*This cruise often sells out. If it is not available on the date you are seeking, consider the Fall Foliage Sails aboard Adirondack!

What Is Not Included?

  • Gratuity is not included unless you purchased the ‘Groups of 10 or more’ ticket type where a 10% gratuity is automatically applied. If you do end up obtaining 10 or more individual tickets by separate purchases, you will be contacted to make an advance payment of a 10% Group Gratuity.

  • Peak fall foliage is not guaranteed. We have seen fall colors at their peak as early as mid-October and as late early December along the waterfront in the Palisades of New Jersey (the prime destination of our fall foliage excursions). Refunds due to ‘lack of color’, will not be honored. Cruising on the Hudson River, north by the Palisades, is a unique and interesting route and is the declared value of this excursion.

Other Tips & Guidelines

Check in 15-30 minutes early at our booth. We board the boat promptly 5 minutes prior to departure. The yacht leaves on time and cannot come back to pick you up if you are late. No refunds or reschedules will be provided for late arrivals.

Important: Any directions or maps provided by Classic Harbor Line are only a rough guide. You are responsible for arriving at the activity's meeting location on time, so make sure to check with a second source that can provide specific directions from your starting point.

Detailed Directions:

Our boats depart from Chelsea Piers, on Pier 62, which is located at West 23rd Street and the Hudson River. We are at the most Northern End of the Chelsea Piers Building on the water. (When standing in front of the building facing the water, go around the north side of the building. Our ticket booth is located on the walkway next to the water on Pier 62.) Please check in at the Classic Harbor Line ticket booth upon arrival, and you will be escorted to the boat by the Captain when it is time to board. Please note: when walking to Chelsea Piers, you must cross the West Side Highway. There are crosswalks at 18th Street and 23rd Street.

By Subway:

Take the C or E train to 23rd Street. This will leave you on 8th Avenue, so you'll need to walk about three avenues west, until you hit the Hudson River/Chelsea Piers complex.

By Bus:

Take the cross town M23 bus west to the last stop: Chelsea Piers, Pier 62.

By Car:

If you are planning to park at Chelsea Piers, the access road into Chelsea Piers' parking lots for Pier 61, 60, and 59 is at West 24th street. The access roads into Chelsea Piers parking are accessible if you are south bound on the West Side Hwy or west bound on 23rd Street. On 23rd street, take a right on 11th Avenue and a quick left on W. 24th street. Just keep your eyes peeled for the bus or taxi turn-in into Chelsea Piers and hang a right. Watch out for pedestrians and bikers in this area. Upon entering the parking garages on the other piers, you will have to take a ticket that you must pay to the lot attendants when you leave. Up to 3 hours of parking is $25, and up to 4 hours is $38.

Parking

We unfortunately do not issue vouchers for parking at Chelsea Piers. The parking lots and parking rates are managed by Chelsea Piers. Availability and prices cannot be guaranteed.
